Temporary Materials: Banners
Banners can provide quick, cost-effective advertising. They can be very simple or very sophisticated, and can incorporate graphics, color and logos.
Next Day Signs can make a banner in virtually any size, from a standard 3' x 10' banner to one large enough to wrap around a bus, bandstand or building. Banners can be your ideal product for temporary use and lasting promotional solutions for both outdoor and indoor signage. Typical applications include the following signs:
- Grand Opening and Coming Soon Announcements
- Sales and Promotions
- Special Events
Banner Material - What is it?
We provide a standard stock of banner materials that will suit almost all of your sign needs. We stock 14 and 10 ounce vinyl and nylon woven banner material. Although there are other types of materials such as Tyvek and polyethylene, these are for limited applications and cannot be expected to last longer than a few days or weeks outside.
You should consider using a heavier weight material when the banner will be suspended between poles or buildings. Grommets every 2-3' minimize stress and the two-ply corners ensure strength for intermediate to long-term outdoor life.
Our standard, stocked banner material is guaranteed to be vinyl receptive only on one side. If the sign is hung outside, letters on the second side may come off in as few as three days. If letters are applied to the proper side, though, the banner can last many years outdoors. Of course, proper care and handling will affect the longevity of a banner.
Special care needs to be given to the installation of large banners. If you are unsure of the best application method, call us.
Sizes
Our banner material typically comes on a roll that is 36" or 54" wide by 40-, 45-, or 75-yards long. Some common sizes for banners are 2' x 8', 3' x 10', and 4' x 15'. The maximum size for a banner is virtually unlimited, and we can also provide you with any customized size desired.
Value-Enhancing
There are several ways in which you can increase the value and effectiveness of your aluminum sign:
- Adding striping and/or borders
- Using additional lettering colors
- Adding a photo
- Adding a logo
- Using a graphic symbol
- Utilizing unusual shapes or designs
Installation and Care
While the banner is in production, grommets will be placed in all four corners and every 2-3’ feet between, across the top and bottom. These are used to hang and secure the banner.
To prevent letter separation and air bubbles, when storing your banner, you should always roll the banner with the graphics or letters to the outside. Never fold your banner because it will cause it to have creases.
